2005 RNCM Granada Prize for the chamber music with their performances of the
work. His work for clarinet, trombone, violin and ‘cello, Tigh-Nan-Uiseagan,
was featured as part of the 2003 Edinburgh International Fringe Festival. Currently the composer-in-residence at Leeds
Cathedral,
David’s choral work has lead to many high profile performances and broadcasts;
he is also providing all of the original music and arrangements for the 2005
Christmas midnight Mass broadcast on BBC Radio 4. As and orchestral composer he was awarded the 2003 Wallace
Ensemble Composition Prize with Phyvasyde, his work Tempus Fugit
was commissioned by the Nottingham Symphony Orchestra in 2004 and Another
Fine Mess was performed by the Leeds University Symphony Orchestra as part
of the St. Tropez music festival in 2003. David is in much demand as a composer for theatre, film and
television and has successfully collaborated with artists in the field of
popular and commercial music. He has arranged music for the Hip-Hop outfit, Nightmares
on Wax, which were subsequently used by BBC Radio 1 and in February 2005 he
provided over 2 hours of backing music for the Royal Academy of Music Session
Orchestra to accompany Jonny Berliner in a fundraising concert for the Elton
