Hush-you-bye is a small set of four variations on the American folk song often called 'pretty little horses' or 'all the pretty horses'. The folk song is thought to originate from around the civil war and was collected by Alan Lomax. He learnt it from his mother, who took it from North Carolina to Texas after the civil war. The song has also made transitions into popular music; notable artists to use it include Cher and Charlotte Church.
